2nd Shift Associate Endoscope Technician (Repair))

About the Role

Every Endoscope Technician must understand and accept the responsibility to ensure the safety of all Olympus products that are repaired by following established processes and procedures. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Technician evaluates, troubleshoots, disassembles, assembles, repairs, and/or inspects endoscopes to assure proper function. This role supports business needs by working in areas outside their primary responsibility as assigned.

The Technician proactively participates in quality systems, quality improvement, and “5S” programs, maintains confidentiality of documents and processes, and upholds a clean, well-organized work environment. Overtime may be required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, troubleshoot, disassemble, assemble, repair, and inspect endoscopes to ensure proper functionality.
• Use small hand tools and test equipment (e.g., light sources, video processors, mega ohm testers) for repairs and assembly.
• Complete and maintain accurate service records both electronically and manually.
• Follow safe work practices and guidelines established by Olympus.
• Participate in technical training to become proficient in assigned department tasks.
• Perform routine tasks with limited judgment, contributing to decision-making related to repairs.
• Maintain acceptable standards for attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
• Work under close supervision, receiving detailed instructions for all tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent working knowledge and responsibilities.
• Minimum of six months to one year of experience working with repeatable, detailed processes requiring dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to perform medical device manufacturing or repair (preferred).
• Sufficient manual dexterity with small hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers).
• Experience or ability to work with microscopes, test equipment, and hand soldering (where applicable).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow manuals, work instructions, and job standards.
• Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse proficiency.
• Customer-focused and oriented mindset.

Skills

This is an entry-level role where the Technician acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures. After completing technical training and an initial skill set, the Associate Endoscope Technician will perform functions related to endoscope repair and service. The Technician must reach and maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality based on time in the role.
