Position Overview

The 2nd Shift Assembly Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting production operations by leading assembly team members, coordinating workflow, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day assembly activities, maintaining accurate production records, and providing frontline support to employees to achieve production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team members - Monitor performance of your team members and provide feedback, both positive and constructive criticism, where appropriate
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance
  • Maintain employee productivity and motivate workers to ensure hourly/daily pace goal is met
  • Train new employees and cross train personnel by adhering to and executing the training system supplied
  • Manage resources to meet pace and quality goals as listed above
  • Display good leadership qualities, including integrity, ability to communicate effectively, maintain good relationships with production associates, show ability to motivate
  • Look for positive qualities in associates to coach up to higher levels of employment
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports
  • Understand how production flows through the facility
  • Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Effectively communicate with management and be a conduit between management and your team members
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Safety conscience at all times as well as ensures associates are operating safely (be the example for your team)
  • Team player and foster an environment that ensures each member of the area is working toward the common goal

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as lead or supervisor of 5-30 people in an assembly line environment
  • Proven experience meeting and maintaining daily production goals
  • Technical knowledge of refrigeration preferred
  • Drive to push production
  • Must be motivated and not mind a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work on a variety of units at the same time
  • Strong manual dexterity, be able to adjust to changing job assignments quickly and easily
  • Ability to use basic assembly tools- pneumatic, cordless, and hand tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Can read/ interpret drawings or blueprints
  • Can easily follow technical instructions
  • Experienced with navigating through a BOM and able to determine the correct materials to use for the assembly

Working Conditions

  • Production Plant
  • 10-hour shifts
  • Monday-Thursday
