About the role

This position reports to the Assembly Line Supervisor and Assembly Lead. The Assembly Team Member is responsible for performing job tasks and functions associated with the assembly of landing gear, landing gear parts, and all related processes, components, and components.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble landing gear legs and components correctly, efficiently, and with consistent quality, following standardized work and quality standards.
  • Follow all standard work and Work Instructions (WIs) without deviation.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as a team player to contribute to the success of the assembly team.
  • Log and complete training documents as required.
  • Perform tasks safely in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
  • Learn, cross-train, and gain proficiency in each position/station on the assembly lines, rotating daily as required.
  • Communicate courteously with coworkers, supervisors, and other JOST teams.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned or logically inherent to the position.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school education or GED.
  • Capable of working safely and productively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Dexterity to work in all assembly areas with varied part weights and sizes.
  • Highly dependable, motivated, and possesses a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Capable of using applicable hand and power tools, including grinding tools.
  • Mechanically inclined or previous experience in assembly.
  • Ability to understand and strictly abide by Work Instructions (WI).
  • Ability to learn and comply with JOST’s Basic Processes, quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a manufacturing setting. The employee is regularly and repetitively required to:

  • Walk and stand for extended periods.
  • See, hear, and use hands to reach, stoop, bend, twist, and lift or move objects weighing from 5 to 51 pounds, with or without assistance.
