About the role
The machine operator is responsible for the daily operation of their assigned machine on the production line, transporting materials, supplies, and product to designated locations, and ensuring a clean, organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Understand, program, and ensure the machine is running properly for production; complete all necessary checks and enter information into tablets.
- Ensure products and services meet all necessary quality specifications before reaching the consumer.
- Maintain orderly production and distribution by pulling orders from inventory, delivering materials and supplies, and staging finished products for distribution.
- Meet setup expectations and start lines on time.
- Maintain or exceed goals on yields and efficiencies by meeting efficiency standards throughout the shift.
- Meet scheduled run times for production lines.
- Observe and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Contribute to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- Previous experience in a food production environment is helpful.
- High level of technical proficiency to assist operators in problem-solving and meet production process requirements.
- Knowledge of GMPs, SPC, HACCP, OSHA, and USDA regulations is helpful.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work in a cold production setting with concrete floors and a freezer, standing in sub-zero temperatures for seven or more hours per day.
- Handle cold and wet product throughout the day.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times a day and occasionally 70 lbs.
- Push and pull carts weighing up to 500 lbs. with assistance from another team member.
- Perform repetitive motions of hands and arms, with some overhead reaching throughout the day.
- May work in aisles or narrow passageways.
Food Safety
Kilcoy has adopted the SQF System for food safety management and operates under continuous USDA meat & poultry jurisdiction. All team members are responsible for food safety and quality requirements, including regular training and accountability for managing food safety expectations. Team members must report any food safety issues or concerns to department management.

Pay
$24.31 per hour.
