Responsibilities

  • Ensure the store crew is trained and prepared to meet the expectations of their positions.
  • Coach and inspire crew members regularly on how to improve and what they are excelling at.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, selection, development, and management of the store team.
  • Incorporate the importance of customer service into all training sessions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the customer experience.
  • Partner with the management team to ensure effective and efficient management of all processes and tasks.
  • Manage inventory, shrink, store financial targets, policy compliance, marketing promotions/events, product merchandising/signage, quality standards, store/crew safety/security.
  • Occasionally manage business disruptions such as loiterers, solicitation, emergency weather situations, bathroom misuse.
  • Lead and mentor department managers to ensure operational excellence.
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication, advocate for the company’s strategic objectives, and set a positive store culture.
  • Train on all aspects of store operations and work with the crew in various departments.
  • Work independently and be available for full schedules including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills – ability to inspire others and gain trust and credibility with team members.
  • Effective under pressure – staying calm in challenging situations and interacting with other employees and customers.
  • Patience and understanding when working with others and adaptable to various learning styles.
  • Able to obtain forklift certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Driven to succeed in meeting all deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated success in training individuals and groups on various topics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – to provide clear direction and training and manage emails and other inquiries.
  • Staff management experience is a plus.
  • Able to effectively manage changing priorities.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Shows interest in natural/organic foods and supplements.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
