About the role
We are seeking a 2nd Assistant Engineer to join our team aboard self-unloading vessels operating on the Great Lakes.
Responsibilities
- Standing engineering watches
- Assisting with the safe operation of machinery and equipment
- Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of propulsion and auxiliary systems
- Monitoring engine room operations
- Maintaining engineering logs
- Supporting compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Participating in emergency drills
- Assisting with drydock projects and major overhauls
Qualifications
- Possession of a TWIC Card
- US Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) as 2nd Assistant Engineer of Motor Propelled Vessels
- Unexpired US Passport or Enhanced Driver's License
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and safety commitment
