2nd Engineer
Job Summary
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for safety of crew, environment and engine room as well as his/her own safety.
Attends and participates in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings.
Responsible for the watch in the Engine Control Room.
Supervises other personnel on watch and to assure the proper power distribution on the MODU.
Responsible for bunkering, transferring fuel, water and other fluids safely and efficiently.
Maintains the order, cleanliness and housekeeping at mechanical sites.
Maintains the mechanical equipment when required by the Chief Engineer.
Aids the Chief Engineer to ensure that all safety critical equipment onboard the MODU is maintained and tested to Valaris safety policies, standards and procedures, and Flag State Regulations.
Identifies opportunities to improve operational procedures and assists with procedure revisions and risk assessments.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum of four years working in the Marine industry.
- One to two years of maritime experience as a 1st Engineer Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch.
- Completion of degree from a recognized Maritime Academy or University is required.
- Completion of all training and certification requirements for position as described in the training matrix.
