About the role
The Army National Guard Paralegal Specialist assists judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders with legal matters and judicial work. This position provides legal and administrative support in areas such as family law, international law, contract law, defense legal services, and judicial legal services.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal documents in courts-martial and other military justice matters
- Assist in legal affairs including power of attorney, wills, and separation decrees
- Maintain law/administrative library
- Monitor and review actions for accuracy
- Interview witnesses, research court decisions and Army regulations, process legal claims and appeals, and prepare records of hearings, investigations, courts-martial, and courts of inquiry
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Schedule
Basic Training: 10 weeks
Advanced Individual Training and On-the-Job Instruction: 10 weeks

Pay is based on the Army National Guard pay scale and may vary depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
