Responsibilities
- Supports the day to day bookkeeping activities using Fund Accounting (non-profit accounting).
- Manages the bookkeeping activities for our New Market Tax Credit entities.
- Frequent monitoring and reconciliation of numerous bank and investment accounts.
- Supports and balances subsidiary ledgers and resolves discrepancies. (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Notes Payable, etc.)
- Supports the maintenance general ledger, including grant accounts.
- Develops and prepares management reports, monthly and as needed.
- Analyzes financial data.
- Performs activities with designed internal controls.
- Maintains accounting records in digital, physical, and QuickBooks Desktop formats.
- Supports the completion of all business filings (e.g., annual reports.)
- Provides support for grant applications and reporting.
- Adheres to accounting policy and procedure manual.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong proficiency as a team member.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
- Compliance oriented.
- Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks Desktop preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze loan documents and confirm compliance.
