About the role

This position oversees financial reporting and payment processes that support county human services programs. It ensures funding is accurate, compliant, and aligned with statewide financial standards.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Supervise financial reporting, payment processing, and expenditure review activities
  • Report Review: Analyze expenditure reports and financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Policy Interpretation: Review regulations and policies to determine their effect on financial operations
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control checks to confirm consistency and adherence to procedures
  • Data Analysis: Assemble and interpret fiscal data to prepare reports and respond to information requests
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work with counties, program offices, and auditors to support financial processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Accountant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) or certification as a Public Accountant; or Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting. Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office in person for training and then twice per week. In-office training dates will be determined by the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
  • If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
