About the role
Farmington Public Schools is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Middle School Boys Head Basketball Coach at Farmington STEAM Academy.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and instruction in the development of student-athletes in the sport of basketball
- Plan and conduct practice sessions
- Supervise team activities and ensure student safety
- Maintain proper conduct and sportsmanship among players
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and staff
- Ensure compliance with district policies and athletic regulations
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in basketball at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules
- Ability to work with middle school-aged students in a positive and educational manner
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Must complete required district training and background check
