Job Summary
Takes direction from a head coach to teach and coach students interested in cross country. Provides opportunities for advanced study and participation under expert guidance in a supportive environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Holds or assists in organizing and supervising practices as required.
- Teaches necessary skills and strategies for participating in cross country.
- Develops seasonal and daily practice plans.
- Communicates with parents, officials, and booster clubs to promote the sport.
- Supervises locker rooms and bus trips as needed.
- Complies with athletic association regulations, league rules, and district policies.
- Attends coaching clinics as requested.
- Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the district.
- Encourages student participation and promotes ethical values of athletics.
- Maintains facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Promotes sportsmanship and positive health and safety standards.
- Passes the district's required online training by the assigned due date.

Qualifications
- Completed OSAA Coaches Education Program.
- Previous experience coaching cross country and strong leadership skills preferred.
- Valid first aid/CPR card required.
