About the role

To contribute to the efficient operation of a school site so that it can effectively contribute to the educational process of the school. Help provide for and insure the security and protection of all students and staff, while crossing the streets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students while in cafeteria and on playground.
• Assist as needed on the school campus.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.
• Provide front office support and answering telephone.
• Assist children in crossing streets on the way to and from school at assigned times and locations.
• Attempt to cross all pedestrians including non-students as required by law.
• Interact with children, staff and community members on a positive basis.
• Placement and removal of speed signs and reporting maintenance needs when required.
• Learn and follow state law and adopted procedures regarding the operation of school crossings.
• Protect safety of children at all times while on duty.
• Report student safety infractions.
• Report license numbers of vehicles violating safety regulations.
• Monitor and report infractions of state laws regarding school zones.
