26/27 SY School Aide/Crossing Guard
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise students while in cafeteria and on playground.
- Aid as needed on the school campus.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.
- Provide front office support and answering telephone.
- Assist children in crossing streets on the way to and from school at assigned times and locations.
- Attempt to cross all pedestrians including non-students as required by law.
- Interact with children, staff and community members on a positive basis.
- Learn and follow state law and adopted procedures regarding the operation of school crossings.
- Report student safety infractions.
- Report license numbers of vehicles violating safety regulations.
- Monitor and report infractions of state laws regarding school zones.
- Maintain a reasonable awareness of pedestrian, vehicular, and other traffic in all directions.
- Maintain district supplied equipment.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience
Experience working with school age children preferred.
Licensing
Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
Knowledge

Ada And Other Requirements
Positions in this class require: pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 17 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires regular holding a stop paddle at or above shoulder level when crossing pedestrians. Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor and outdoor environment including exposure to noise and being on your feet. Requires standing in inclement weather including summer heat.
