The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time position at Thomas Edison. This position is permanent and open for one opening.
About the role
This position is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. The ideal candidate should possess strong educational background and experience working with special education students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities
- Collaborate with other special education staff and teachers to ensure student success
- Assist in the development and implementation of accommodations and modifications
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field
- A valid California teaching credential in special education
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in special education (Master’s preferred)
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of current special education laws and regulations
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. Candidates must be internal employees to be placed on Column 5; for external candidates, the maximum incoming placement is Column 4/Step 11.
Schedule
The length of the work year is 10 months/year, 186 days/year, 5 days/week, with a professional work day. The length of the work day is 6 hours.
