Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction using effective teaching strategies that support diverse student populations and promote student learning.
- Audit and assess student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support academic success.
- Ensure course materials are accessible to students in compliance with digital accessibility standards.
- Foster an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to utilizing appropriate educational technologies and communication tools to support teaching, learning, and administrative responsibilities.
- Maintain and submit required documentation such as course information, academic credentials, and professional references as part of the application and employment process.
Requirements
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle. The salary range for part-time faculty is (generally P1: A1- E7): $7,703 - $11,537.33 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter). The target start rate of pay is $7,703 - $8,912 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter).
Qualifications
- Master's Degree or PhD in the field or related field from an accredited institution.
- A demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse college community that serves students from various socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.
- Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning.
