About the role

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an academic interventionist focused on math for students at a K-8 school. The interventionist provides an extra layer of support beyond core academic instruction, including:

• Pulling small groups
• Tracking academic progress
• Ensuring students access blended learning tools that support their growth
• Partnering with classroom teachers to ensure effective student interventions
• Other duties as assigned

All teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties outlined by their School Leader. This role is funded by Title 1 resources and is available at KIPP VOICE Academy (813 Golfair Blvd).

Schedule

Teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours, with occasional meetings or special events outside these times. Hours may vary slightly by school:

• K-8 Staff: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• K-8 Students: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Wednesday dismissal at 1:30 PM)
• High School Staff: 6:45 AM – 3:45 PM
• High School Students: 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM (Wednesday dismissal at 12:30 PM)

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, allowing teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *Wellness Wednesdays are an exception, when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or equivalent (K-6 Elementary Education OR Middle Grades 5-9 Math)
• At least two years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
• Deep commitment to both racial and educational equity for all children
• Passing a background check, as required by law (Florida House Bill 531)

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to demonstrate results from small group instruction
• ESOL endorsement or completion of one 60-point workshop in Florida
• Additional certifications in ESE K-12
• Three or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom

Pay

Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000.
