Immediate Math Interventionist (K-8)

About the role

The Academic Interventionist (Math) focuses on supporting students as an extra layer of support beyond their core academic instruction. Responsibilities include pulling small groups, tracking academic progress, ensuring students access blended learning tools, partnering with classroom teachers to ensure effective interventions, and other duties as assigned. All teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties outlined by their School Leader. This role is available at KIPP VOICE Academy (813 Golfair Blvd) and is funded by Title 1 resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group instruction to support student growth in math
• Track and monitor academic progress of students
• Ensure students access blended learning tools that support their development
• Partner with classroom teachers to implement effective interventions
• Create a positive classroom environment
• Implement curriculum and assess student performance
• Collaborate with teaching teams and build relationships with families
• Perform other duties as assigned by the School Leader

Schedule

Teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours, with occasional meetings or special events outside these times. Hours may vary slightly by school:

• K-8 Staff: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• K-8 Students: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with early dismissal at 1:30 PM on Wednesdays
• High School Staff: 6:45 AM – 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday
• High School Students: 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM, with early dismissal at 12:30 PM on Wednesdays

Every Wednesday is an early release day for students, allowing teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. On Wellness Wednesdays, all staff leave at student dismissal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or equivalent (K-6 Elementary Education OR Middle Grades 5-9 Math)
• At least two years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

• Passing a background check, as required by Florida law (screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate results from small-group instruction
• ESOL endorsement or completion of a 60-point workshop in Florida
• Additional certifications in ESE K-12
• Three or more years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement

Pay

Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000.
