About the Mission

At Collegiate Academies, we don’t just run schools; we build engines of social mobility. We are at the absolute epicenter of the movement to send New Orleans and Baton Rouge students to college. While others talk about "potential," we produce results. When we say "all scholars," we don’t use it as a buzzword. We mean the scholars who arrived five years behind grade level, the 9th graders ready for AP English, the overaged students, and the scholars with IEPs, 504s, or BIPs. We believe every single one of them is college-bound.

Reed while establishing new legacies at Collegiate Baton Rouge and Opportunities Academy. Our successes in academics and college are mirrored in marching band, athletics, and leadership.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

• Alumni Persistence Coach and counsel all graduates within one year of high school graduation on their path to and through college and other rigorous postsecondary opportunities
• Develop and implement high-impact strategies and interventions for challenge areas our scholars will face (academics, finances, independent living, etc.).
• Provide individualized support that meets the specific needs of alumni.
• Engage supporters of alumni (family, teachers, community, friends) if appropriate to help alumni achieve their goals.
• Execute with urgency and prioritize alumni needs to meet those most pressing and ensure no one falls through the cracks.
• Develop systems, strategies, and protocols that guide communication with alumni.
• Ensure an effective transition to the NLN Persistence Coach at the end of the year.

Programming and Data Analysis

• Build innovative programming on college campuses and at post-secondary programs that increases support for our alumni and boosts their retention and overall college success.
• Analyze the data and performance of your work, our team’s work, and our alumni’s performance to ensure we grow and improve always.
• Build and leverage relationships with key higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, and social services organizations to ensure they provide the best services for our alumni.

College Matriculation

• Work with each graduate (and partner with Team College as needed) to ensure at least 85% of seniors matriculate to college or their postsecondary program each year.
• Provide any support required to ensure each alumnus is prepared (academically, socially, financially, etc) to thrive at their college on day 1.

College Access + Match

• Establish and lead a GOLD School Krewe for 9-11th graders who receive targeted interventions that lead to admission and success at GOLD colleges.
• Coordinate and lead underclassmen opportunities such as college rep visits, college case studies, college fairs, and trips in which students gain knowledge, skills, and experiences that set them up for GOLD School success.

Requirements

• The Baseline: Bachelor’s degree required.
• The Experience: 2+ years of professional similar experience. We prefer candidates who have a track record of success with students or communities similar to ours.
• The Mindset: You are hungry for feedback, eager to remove the toughest obstacles, and possess a "radical" belief in the power of Black and Brown scholars.
• The Vibe: You take your work seriously, but not yourself. You’re ready to sweat for the mission and then paint your face for Homecoming with the team.
