About the role
The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as: EES 1. Natural Disasters and Earth Resources, EES 4. Environmental Science, EES 5. Climate Change, EES 6. California Wildfires, Forest Ecology and Land Use, EES 9. Introduction to Earth Science, EES 102S Sedimentology, EES 106 Structural Geology, EES 106F Structural Geology Field Methods, EES 108 Soil and Water Sciences, EES 112. Planet Earth through Time, EES117 Hydrogeology, EES 167. Oceans and Atmosphere and Climate, EES 168. California's Earth System, NSCI 115. Environmental Earth and Life Science or other classes that may be identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.
Responsibilities
- Adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
- Preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading (as appropriate) lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.
- All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i.e. asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience is required.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- A Ph.D. in Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is preferred.
Skills
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
Benefits
- Compensation commensurate by qualifications and experience within the salary range placement.
Pay
- The salary range for Temporary Faculty with a Master's degree is $5,507-6,677 per a month when teaching full time (15 WTUs).
Schedule
- Appointees will be required to demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. California State University, Fresno does not sponsor Temporary Faculty for work visas.
