Job Description

The Associate Director of School Operations (ADSO) will support the operational needs of teachers and the instructional program, allowing the school leadership team to focus on student success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Trip Planning, Event Coordination and Purchasing Support
  • Troubleshooting with external service providers and managing their work
  • Maintaining budget and preparing monthly reports
  • Managing staff background checks and onboarding
  • Coordinating staff appreciation events and professional development support
  • Supporting team surveys and HR assignments
  • Communicating operational updates to staff

School Operations, Projects and Communication

  • Managing audit and charter tool uploads
  • Coordinating and submitting School Improvement Plans
  • Leading the ESSAC committee
  • Managing volunteer projects
  • Supporting larger operations team with attendance and enrollment initiatives

Tech Support

  • Providing Tier 1 tech support to staff and students
  • Scheduling and coordinating assessments and training sessions
  • Maintaining relationships with print services and tech support vendors
  • Deploying student and staff devices

Student Recruitment and Enrollment

  • Organizing and publicizing student recruitment events
  • Supporting staff efforts in student recruitment and enrollment processes

Aesthetics

  • Supporting the school’s vision on culture by developing and maintaining building aesthetics
  • Ensuring classroom and school readiness checklists are complete
  • Providing ongoing support for staff and student culture through visual artifacts and space maintenance

Afterschool Programming

  • Setting up systems and managing afterschool programming at the school
  • Coordinating with the central operations team on any issues that arise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Data base management and reporting skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Compensation & Benefits

KIPP NJ offers competitive salaries for newly hired lead teachers, ranging from $76,000 to $133,000+. The organization provides a comprehensive benefits package, including:
