Full-time Paraprofessional Positions through ESS Staffing Agency.

Pay

  • Instructional Aide / Learning Support Sp. Ed: $120 / day, 7 hours (7:15 AM – 2:45 PM)
  • Instructional Aide / ELD Aide: $120 / day, 7 hours (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • Instructional Aide / Building Aide: $120 / day, 7 hours (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • Instructional Aide / Swim Aide: $184 / day, 7 hours (7:15 AM – 2:45 PM)

In addition to the per diem rate, full-time positions qualify for:

  • Intensive Instructional Aide: up to $300 / month ($3,000 total per year) Premium Share / Opt-Out Bonus
  • Instructional Aide: up to $200 / month ($2,000 total per year) Premium Share / Opt-Out Bonus

About the role

This position provides assistance with the physical, educational, and social needs of students as an Instructional Aide (Class III) or Intensive Instructional Aide (Class II). Intensive Instructional Aides support acute, uniquely intense student needs on an ongoing, regular basis and may be assigned to Special Education Consortium Classrooms or directly to a student.

Position Descriptions

  • ILS Aide: Works in an Intensive Learning Support classroom setting, split between general education classes and/or working with small groups in the ILS room in math, English, and reading.
  • PACE Classroom: Works in a Life Skills classroom setting, helping with small groups, escorting students to other areas (nurse, library, restroom, vans), and accompanying students to classes outside the PACE classroom.
  • Learning Support Aide: Works primarily in a learning support classroom but supports students in general education classes, assists with schoolwork, and helps the learning support teacher with progress monitoring.
  • ES Aide: Works primarily in an emotional support classroom but supports students in general education classes, assists with schoolwork, and helps the emotional support teacher with progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic, social, and life skills support and instruction to students as directed by the teacher, principal, and/or specialist in accordance with the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), if applicable.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff in the overall educational and social development of students.
  • Perform and monitor instructional activities as directed by the teacher and/or principal.
  • Assist with established student disciplinary procedures as directed by the teacher and/or principal.
  • Assist with the implementation of behavior support plans.
  • Provide updates to teachers and/or administrators regarding student academic progress, behavioral changes, or physical needs.
  • Complete required district training programs and continuing education hours as mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
  • Strictly comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) confidentiality obligations.
  • Adhere to daily duties and instructional schedules as established by the teacher and/or principal.
  • Provide coverage in district classrooms, buildings, or facilities as needed (classroom coverage, recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal).
  • Assist students to and from school buses and vehicles.
  • Recognize teacher and/or principal authority in managing all student programs.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom materials, bulletin boards, and other displays.
  • Act as a positive social and emotional role model for students.
  • Encourage and model a positive, mutually supportive classroom and building environment.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Perform clerical, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or principal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer competency skills.
  • Clearances required upon hire and updated every 5 years: PA State Police, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint.
  • Child Abuse training (or proof of completion) in accordance with Act 126 upon hire and repeated every 5 years thereafter.
  • Negative TB test required upon hire.
