About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic psychology-led multidisciplinary Maternity & Neonatal Psychological Interventions Team. The Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Interventions (MNPI) Team provides assessment, treatment and care to women, families and staff across both maternity (antenatal and postnatal) and neonatal specialities on an in-patient and out-patient basis across the whole of NHS Lothian. The team serve a population of approximately 9,000 births per year and 1,000 admissions to the neonatal units.
Responsibilities
- Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and formulation-based individual and group interventions across a range of psychological presentations in maternity and neonatal periods
- Deliver clinical supervision, consultation and a collaborative role across the range of services involved in continuity of psychological care
Qualifications
We invite applications from across the spectrum of clinical psychology backgrounds, with additional training and support relevant to this role to be provided for the successful candidate.

- 0.6 WTE permanent Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist post (8A)
- 0.4 WTE temporary Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist post (8A) for 12 months
- This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
- As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
