About the role
NHS Lothian is recruiting for a Deputy Charge Nurse position at DSU - Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will lead and support a team of nurses, ensuring high-quality, compassionate, and safe patient care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of nurses to provide exceptional patient care
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursing practices
Requirements
- PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult)
- Experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Experience in a supervisory or management role
