About the role
The Psychological Intervention Assistant post is a specialist Assistant Psychologist role for an individual who has completed the EPP-CYP course. The post-holder will work within NHS Scotland, within a mental health and/or wellbeing service as part of a team delivering, under supervision from an experienced therapist, high-quality, outcome-informed, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Deliver psychological interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, depression/low mood, and self-regulatory and behavioral difficulties using evidence-based parenting interventions.
- Work within a team delivering interventions under supervision from an experienced therapist.
- Ensure interventions are provided within safe, effective, and values-driven mental health services.
- Demonstrate and work with a critical knowledge of the concepts of diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism.
Requirements
- Completed the EPP-CYP course.
- PVG Scheme membership/record.
- Deemed satisfactory by Disclosure Scotland if not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group.
Qualifications
- Education to at least CBT Diploma level in relation to the population served, as agreed with the NHS Health Board Director of Psychology.

- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
Benefits
- Fixed term for 12 months.
- Salary pro-rated due to part-time status.
Pay
Salary will be pro-rated based on the 28.8 hours per week.
