About the role
NHS Dumfries & Galloway is looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled Technical Co-ordinator to join their DDaT Information Services Team. This role involves supporting the development of modern data, reporting and business intelligence solutions that enhance decision-making and improve patient care.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining databases, data repositories and reporting solutions
- Supporting the continued development of the organisation's data warehouse and business intelligence platforms
- Supporting the implementation of data analytics systems, including AI solutions
- Creating and enhancing reports, dashboards and data visualisations using tools like Power BI, MS Fabric, Snowflake, Qlik and SQL-based technologies
- Working with clinical, operational and corporate teams to understand information requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Supporting data quality improvement initiatives and ensuring information is accurate and reliable
- Investigating and resolving complex technical and data-related issues
- Delivering training, guidance and technical support to users across the organisation
- Contributing to a wide range of DDaT Data projects and digital transformation initiatives
Requirements
We are seeking an individual who is analytical, organised, and passionate about using data and technology to improve services. Key requirements include:
- Experience working with databases and data management systems
- Strong SQL skills and an understanding of data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Additional benefits:

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field, along with a strong background in data management and analysis.
