About the role

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join a passionate team of pharmacists delivering specialist clinical pharmacy services across a diverse range of surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Critical Care, Orthopaedics and Reproductive Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in shaping the clinical pharmacy service delivery across surgical specialities and aseptic unit.
  • Deputise for the aseptic services manager, gaining valuable leadership experience within technical services.
  • Grow and thrive with opportunities to deepen specialist knowledge and develop key skills in service innovation, staff leadership, education and training.
  • Contribute meaningfully to patient care in a highly collaborative, cross-professional environment.

Requirements

  • Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Completed training or equivalent competence mapped to the RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.

Skills and Attributes

  • Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
  • A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in a surgical setting.
  • A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Support and develop other members of the pharmacy team.

Pay and Schedule

Effective 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
