252026 (AP) Specialist Pharmacist
About the role
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join a passionate team of pharmacists delivering specialist clinical pharmacy services across a diverse range of surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Critical Care, Orthopaedics and Reproductive Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Participate in shaping the clinical pharmacy service delivery across surgical specialities and aseptic unit.
- Deputise for the aseptic services manager, gaining valuable leadership experience within technical services.
- Grow and thrive with opportunities to deepen specialist knowledge and develop key skills in service innovation, staff leadership, education and training.
- Contribute meaningfully to patient care while progressing towards core advanced pharmacist credentials.
Requirements
- Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Completed training or equivalent competence mapped to the RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.

- A highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.

- Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
- A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in a surgical setting.

- Support and develop other members of the pharmacy team.

Pay and Benefits
£52,845 - £61,466 (including weekend, evenings, on-call and public holidays commitment)

Special Notes
As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
