#206.1 - Continuing, Part-time (.286) - Math 10-12 & Other Teacher
School District #82 (Coast Mountains) serves a diverse student population of approximately 4,100 students across nineteen schools in northwest British Columbia. The district encompasses the traditional territories of the Gitxsan, Haisla, Nisga’a, and Tsimshian nations, including communities such as the Hazeltons, Kitimat, Stewart, Terrace, and Thornhill. About the role
This is a continuing, part-time (.286 FTE) teaching position based at the Northwest Trades & Employment Training Centre, with the flexibility to be located in any School District 82 community. The role focuses on teaching Math 10-12 and other subjects as needed, starting September 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach students at all grade levels, with a focus on Math 10-12.
- Apply knowledge of learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties.
- Collaborate with staff to support student success and follow district and school frameworks for enhanced learning.
- Maintain strong classroom management and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Requirements
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Experience teaching students at all grade levels.
- Ability to work legally in Canada.
Benefits
- Salary as per the collective agreement, ranging from $63,513 to $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE, experience, and TQS Category placement).
- Relocation allowances of $1,000 to $5,000 for teachers from other areas (conditions may apply).
- $3,500 Recruitment and Retention allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on FTE).
- Isolation allowances for remote communities: Hazelton ($1,287), Kitwanga ($1,528), Stewart ($4,824) (paid over 10 months of the school year).
- Option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance as per the collective agreement.
Pay
Salary range: $63,513 to $117,454 (based on full-time equivalent, previous experience, and TQS Category placement).
Schedule
Part-time (.286 FTE) position starting September 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
