Partner with the business to develop innovative, value-adding solutions in a summer internship that offers hands-on experience through meaningful projects.

About the role

Information Technology (IT) at Phillips 66 is a valued business partner driving digital transformation through new technologies and delivery processes. Using a DevOps approach, IT works directly with business streams to enhance and introduce technology that tackles global energy challenges. As an intern, you’ll gain first-hand experience in the energy industry while contributing as a valued team member.

Opportunities are available in Bartlesville, OK and Houston, TX. Your summer may include experiences in areas such as:

  • Adopting automation technologies to lower accident risks and operating costs
  • Exploring artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, including machine learning
  • Developing digital solutions to improve workplace efficiency and safety
  • Enhancing inspection and monitoring procedures with leading technologies
  • Software engineering, including code development for custom solutions
  • Cloud engineering, covering infrastructure, software development, configuration, and security
  • Working with analytics to create efficiencies and drive cost savings
  • Developing skills in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning with domain knowledge

Responsibilities

Summer internship activities may include:

  • Participating in orientation, training events, field trips, social activities, weekly seminars, and meetings with functional leaders
  • Engaging in continuous coaching conversations with your manager for guidance throughout the internship
  • Collaborating with technical and new hire mentors for role-specific challenges and corporate navigation
  • Delivering a presentation at the end of the summer to senior business leaders and key stakeholders

Through Digital University, you’ll have access to the latest skills training throughout your internship.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics & Statistics, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or an equivalent field
  • Greater than 30 hours of earned college credit
  • Graduation date of August 2027 or later
  • Available for a minimum of ten continuous weeks

Qualifications

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Previous internship with Phillips 66
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in a related industry
  • Willingness to work in any of our operating locations

Pay

This position offers a bi-weekly pay range of $2,353.00 – $3,760.00, dependent on degree type and expected graduation date.
