2027 Technical Sales Intern - Services
About the role
This is a 12-week summer internship program designed to challenge and develop your technical, business, sales engineering, leadership, and communication skills. Gain hands-on experience in technical sales while exploring a career with Trane Technologies. You will interact with a comprehensive line of commercial, industrial, and institutional HVAC equipment and building management controls, and be exposed to multiple facets of the business including Service, Equipment, Building Automation, Application, and Fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with industry-leading Sales Account Managers and customers.
- Understand the design, application, and sale of systems, controls, parts, and services for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
- Attend sales meetings, business functions, sales and service calls, and customer meetings alongside experienced account managers and mentors.
- Learn the steps sales engineers take from start to finish on a job and participate hands-on throughout the internship.
- Develop an appreciation for customer relationships as you serve as a daily point-of-contact, fostering ownership and importance in the solution-making process.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program for the entire duration of the summer internship.
- Preferred majors: Business, Management, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Engineering.
- Must have completed at least the sophomore year (2nd year) before the start of the summer internship.
- U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Passion for continuous learning in technical fields to build a strong foundation for understanding and communicating engineering solutions.
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, ability to provide proof of insurance, and no major or frequent traffic violations including:
- DUI in the previous 3 years
- Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
Work Arrangement
This posting includes multiple opportunities. Some positions may be remote, while others may require a hybrid or onsite assignment at one of our facilities across North America. Travel is expected to be less than 15% within a defined geography.
Pay
Hourly base pay range: $21.00 – $30.00
