2027 Summer Internship Program - Research & Development Engineering

About the role

Trex Company, the world’s number one decking and railing brand, and leader in high-performance, low-maintenance outdoor living products, is seeking a Research & Development Engineering Intern to take part in our 2026 Summer Internship program.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with routine tasks, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Set up test equipment
• Conduct product testing and reporting
• Analyze data from dimensional measurement equipment for profile extrusion
• Set up color measurement equipment for use in quality control
• Assist with product testing for building code requirements, including internal testing and testing at third‑party labs
• Assist with first‑article inspection of supplied components

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program
• Successfully completed at least two semesters of coursework
• GPA of 3.0 or above
