About the role

As a Trade Support Analyst Intern, you’ll serve in a dynamic role alongside Associates, providing key support across Portfolio Management and Trading desks. You’ll build relationships internally with Account Managers, Product Managers, Legal and Compliance counterparts, Operations teams, and other Portfolio Associate teams globally. On a daily basis, you’ll use your mathematical and fixed income training to monitor portfolios, assist Portfolio Managers in managing risk and client assets, and develop creative solutions and tools to support the team.

Throughout the 10-week summer program, you’ll participate in cross-department training, a collaborative team project, and various networking and social events. You’ll gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools, receive mentorship from supervisors and senior leaders, and obtain feedback through formal reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure investment objectives are implemented across portfolios in scope
  • Monitor portfolio positions versus client guidelines in concert with the Compliance team
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Management on re-balancing of portfolios
  • Utilize proprietary risk systems for monitoring of portfolio exposures
  • Assist in account transitions and cash flow management
  • Conduct performance and attribution analyses
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from the Portfolio Management team

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027)
  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university
  • Business proficiency in English

  • Strong fundamental understanding of financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment finance
  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
  • Excellent communication skills to operate in a complex financial and mathematical environment
  • Ethical, collaborative, organized, flexible, high-energy, self-starter, accountable, and humble traits
  • Finance, fixed income, and/or capital markets coursework (recommended but not required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Excel-based calculations, data presentation, simple macro builds, using Excel functions to analyze data)
  • Demonstrated curiosity and experience using new emerging technologies and AI tools to solve problems and drive better outcomes

Pay

Hourly Rate: $43.26
