2027 Summer Intern: Test Engineering
About the Role
This internship is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare for a rewarding career at Hubbell. The intern will focus on developing and deploying automated validation test solutions to support functional verification testing.
Responsibilities
- Create and enhance automated test suites.
- Automate laboratory test equipment to replace manual testing processes.
- Leverage existing test tools and develop new tools to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
- Apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiences.
- Work on comprehensive, value-added projects in a professional environment.
- Develop technical skills specific to your major.
- Build relationships and learn about other parts of the business for professional development.
- Provide a presentation to the local management team at the end of the program.
- Gain knowledge of the industry as it pertains to the Hubbell business location.
- Gain experience in planning and organizational skills.
- Work on challenging robust projects that provide practical experience.
- Assist with process improvement.
- Manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Provide support and assistance to co-workers as appropriate.
Requirements
- Full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university throughout the internship program period (May–August 2027), pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree related to the internship (required).
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (required).
- Hands-on experience with circuit boards, oscilloscopes, and laboratory test equipment.
- Python programming experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant software and systems.
Pay
Hourly rates for this position range from $22.50 to $29.00 per hour ($46,800–$60,320 annualized equivalent), determined based on academic standing and expected graduation date.
