About the role
Internship positions are located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters. The Business Development Support (BDS) team manages the coordination and submission of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) globally. The team plays an integral role in the initial sales process for prospective clients and in servicing existing clients. BDS collaborates with Account Managers, Product Strategists, and subject matter experts to produce compelling proposals and responses for clients, prospects, and investment consultants across PIMCO’s public and private market strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the completion of RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs to aid in business growth and maintain strong client relationships.
- Partner with Account Management, Product Strategy, and teams across the firm to provide thoughtful, accurate, and timely responses covering firm-level and strategy-specific topics.
- Learn to navigate the firm's proprietary systems and the BDS team's database to source, synthesize, and craft content.
- Develop a strong understanding of the firm's investment strategies and overall approach.
Qualifications
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
- Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028.
- Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027).
- Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Business proficiency in English.
Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with financial markets and a strong interest in learning about fixed income, the asset management industry, and client relationship-building.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support high-quality, resourceful responses.
- Enjoy writing and synthesizing complex information into clear, persuasive narratives.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to flourish in a challenging, fast-paced, professional environment.
- Commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure work is complete, accurate, and on time.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel.
- Experience or prior college internships in a financial, client-oriented role and/or demonstrated interest through coursework or relevant organizations.
- Demonstrated curiosity and experience using emerging technologies and AI tools to solve problems and drive better outcomes.

Pay
Hourly rate: $37.50. PIMCO follows a total compensation approach, including a base salary and a discretionary bonus based on company, business, team, and individual performance.
