2027 Summer Associate - Real Estate

About the role

We are seeking a 2027 summer associate to join our Affordable Housing & Real Estate Practice Group in our Rochester, NY office. Summer associates provide legal research, writing, and other substantive support for our attorneys on projects that are both challenging and exciting. You will receive substantive feedback and mentoring on assignments, as well as access to various training programs throughout the duration of the program.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research and writing in support of attorneys
• Assist with projects in commercial real estate, including development, land use, zoning, and municipal law
• Support financings, particularly those related to affordable housing developments

Requirements

• Second-year law student
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in commercial real estate work
• Strong academic credentials (3.0 GPA or higher)
• Superb judgment and communication skills
• Excellent legal writing skills
• Commitment to teamwork and excellent client service

Pay

The anticipated salary for this position in Rochester, NY is $2,692 per week. This salary is Nixon Peabody’s good faith estimate at the time of posting.
