About the role

Lincoln International is seeking Analyst Interns to join our rapidly growing Valuations & Opinions Group (VOG). This position provides an excellent opportunity to work in a demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment while building analytical skills and finance & accounting acumen. Responsibilities

  • Support our Portfolio Valuation, Asset-backed Finance, or Transaction Opinion & Board Advisory teams.
  • Construct and practice valuation, financial analyses, and case studies, including:
    • Guideline public companies analysis
    • Guideline precedent transactions analysis
    • Discounted cash flow analyses using Lincoln International proprietary models
  • Identify relevant comparable public companies and M&A transactions using information services such as S&P Capital IQ and Bloomberg, along with knowledge of Standard Industrial Classification and other methods.
  • Research and provide information on:
    • General economic conditions
    • Industry-specific conditions and trends
    • Acquisitions and divestitures within specific industries
    • Investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held securities
  • Participate in and shadow due diligence meetings, client communications, and responses to auditor questions regarding valuation analyses.
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals, pitch materials, and written valuation reports.
  • Maintain proprietary valuation databases.
  • Coordinate recurring valuation projects with team members across multiple geographies.
  • Support senior members of the Valuations & Opinions Group.
  • Perform other ad-hoc research, analytics, and support for the VOG team as required.

Requirements

  • Working towards a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with significant coursework completed in these areas.
  • Must be eligible to begin working full-time starting Summer 2028.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Strong analytic foundation with understanding of financial statements and valuation methodologies (DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, including working through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations.
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Assertive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented.

Schedule

This internship will run from May 17, 2027, to July 23, 2027, and will be in-person in our Dallas, New York, or Atlanta offices. Employees work in the office Monday through Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $95,000 on an annual basis. This range is applicable for jobs performed in New York, California, and Illinois. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
