2027 Managed Inventory Development Program (Begins June 2027)

This is a twelve-month training program designed to prepare Associates for full-time opportunities within Wesco. Associates gain knowledge of warehouse and operations, exposure to creative selling strategies, business acumen, project management skills, and product and industry knowledge. The program supports customer issue resolution, inventory management, and professional networking. Associates work under the supervision of a senior Customer Materials Management Team member and are paired with a peer mentor (previous program graduate). Successful completion results in a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Provides support with project development from beginning to end.
• Provides on-site customer inventory data collection.
• Assists in digitization of customer data for sustainable end-to-end inventory management.
• Assists in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Assists in developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Effectively communicates project updates and progression to manager.
• Aligns activities with corporate goals around safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Manages changes in project scope, identifies potential concerns, and devises contingency plans.
• Ensures actual inventory count and communicates with warehouse personnel.
• Supports e-commerce solutions.
• Obtains cross-functional knowledge of different Wesco systems that support business activities.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada); Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Industrial Distribution preferred.
• Desire to build a career in Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.
• Understanding of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
• Ability to build effective business relationships with other functional areas to support mutual objectives.
• Team player mindset with interpersonal, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI).
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
• 0–2 years of experience working in B2B industrial distribution.
• Internship in Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.
• 0–1 years of experience in a service, business, or sales-oriented role.
• Ability to travel 25%–50% (local and national/international).

Working Environment

• General Office: Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard equipment. Lighting and temperature are adequate.
• Outside Sales: Work may involve travel to customer sites or warehouse facilities. Driving may be required for extended periods with frequent stops. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Warehouse: Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. Noise level is moderately quiet. May require wearing protective clothing and operating heavy equipment. Strict safety regulations may apply.

Physical Expectations

• Work is generally sedentary but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
• May require excessive bending or stooping.

Pay

$24.04 – $26.45 per hour. Offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or collective bargaining agreements. Eligible positions may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, and certain sales roles may offer a commission structure based on sales results.
