Launch your consulting journey with West Monroe West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Labs Assets Foundry team within our Technology and Experience (TechEx) Practice. As a Labs Assets Consulting Intern, you’ll support the team’s portfolio of proprietary software assets, AI capabilities, and reusable platforms that enable scalable, differentiated client delivery. You will work with Product Management, Engineering, Experience Design, Data & AI, and Consulting team members to understand technology roadmaps, engineering standards, and help ensure our products are secure, scalable, and built for long-term success. You will gain exposure to modern software engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, and AI-enabled capabilities. You will work alongside experienced Product, Engineering, Design, Data & AI, and Consulting professionals, gaining hands-on experience through coursework, team projects, prototypes, and real product development activities. You are not expected to have experience with every technology listed; we are looking for strong fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Primary Responsibilities Asset Architecture & Engineering Support Support the development and enhancement of West Monroe’s Asset Suite, contributing to scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. Collaborate with engineering team members to learn and apply modern software development, cloud, and architecture practices. Assist with building, testing, and improving reusable components and solutions across products and platforms. Participate in technical discussions and gain exposure to how engineering teams make architecture and technology decisions. AI & Emerging Technology Exploration Explore opportunities to apply Generative AI, intelligent agents, automation, and other emerging technologies within West Monroe’s Asset Suite. Assist with prototyping, testing and evaluation AI-enabled product features using modern tools and platforms. Learn and apply responsible AI, security, governance, and development practices while contributing to innovative solutions. Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, research, and solution exploration while applying critical thinking to evaluate the accuracy and usefulness of outputs. Explore how AI, automation, and data technologies can improve asset usability, generate insights, and support more efficient client delivery. Engineering & Team Collaboration Work alongside experienced engineers to develop technical skills and contribute to high-quality product solutions. Apply modern development practices and tools while gaining hands-on experience with reusable frameworks and cloud-based technologies. Collaborate with Product, Design, Data & AI, Consulting, and Engineering team members to understand product goals and contribute to technical solutions. Product & Business Collaboration Partner with cross-functional team members to understand business and user needs and translate them into product enhancements. Support the continued development and adoption of the Asset Suite by contributing to solutions that address real business challenges. Participate in team planning, innovation initiatives, and product development activities while gaining exposure to the full technology product lifecycle. Core Technologies Programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, or another modern programming language. Web and application development concepts, including APIs, JSON, reusable components, and basic software design. Data technologies such as SQL, relational databases, data modeling, or data integration concepts. Cloud platforms and services, including introductory exposure to Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Generative AI, large language models, prompt design, AI agents, automation, or machine learning concepts. Software engineering tools and practices, including Git, testing, debugging, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and issue tracking. Familiarity with these technologies through coursework, academic projects, internships, personal projects, hackathons, or student organizations is valued. Technologies and tools may vary by project. Interns are not expected to have experience with all the technologies listed above. What You’ll Bring To The Team Sharp analytical thinking and an interest in solving complex problems. Demonstrated leadership through academics, extracurricular activities, or prior work experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028. You will be asked to confirm your expected graduation month and year at the offer stage and prior to beginning your internship. We do request & review official transcripts from your school prior to the start of our internship program. If your expected graduation date falls outside of this range or changes, you are not eligible for this internship. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.). Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date; our culture emphasizes team collaboration within a hybrid work model. Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%); travel expenses covered by West Monroe. Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs. Preferred Qualifications Majors in: Computer Engineering Computer Science Software Engineering Coursework, academic projects, internships, or personal projects involving software development, cloud technologies, data, AI, or automation. Familiarity with Git, APIs, SQL, software testing, or Agile development practices. Experience building a prototype, application, automation, data analysis, or AI-enabled solution.
