About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Editorial Assistant to join our fast-paced magazine team. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the editorial team with researching, writing, and editing articles for both print and digital platforms.
• Manage and update editorial calendars, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Coordinate with writers, photographers, and designers to ensure timely delivery of content.
• Proofread and fact-check articles before publication.
• Monitor industry trends and suggest relevant story ideas.
• Assist in social media content creation and scheduling.
• Support the team in administrative tasks, including email correspondence and meeting coordination.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions for future issues and digital content.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in editorial, journalism, or a related field (internships count).
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-starter with a proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
