2027 Intern - Electronics (Avionics) Engineering

Northrop Grumman is seeking Engineers to join the Aeronautics Systems Sector Intern Program. This position will be on-site in Oklahoma City, OK. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Avionics Engineering directorate. The selected candidate will learn to research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including:
  • Radar and radiation detection equipment
  • Radio, television, and other communications equipment and systems
  • Circuitry components
  • Analog and digital computers
  • Control and test equipment

Basic Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2027
• Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM field
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.25 out of 4.0 or higher
• Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
• Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment
• Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups
• Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher

Pay

• Undergraduate (including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master's program for Fall 2027): $17.50 – $31.75/hour
• Master's: $24.75 – $39.25/hour

Internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Schedule

Full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027. Travel up to 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.
