About the Role

Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) powers one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers. We build platforms, applications, data systems, and automation capabilities that enable Blackstone to operate at scale, make investment decisions, manage risk, and deliver value to investors and portfolio companies. As a Data Engineer Summer Analyst, you will develop innovative technologies that transform the Alternative Asset Management industry. You will collaborate with engineers and business analysts to design, build, deploy, and support ETL/ELT data pipelines and infrastructure across multiple business units. Our custom-built applications are primarily developed in Python and hosted within AWS, leveraging cloud-native container-based and serverless architectures. You will work with robust data pipelines connected to Snowflake for data analysis and visualization, tackling Blackstone’s most meaningful technical challenges in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate ideas into resilient and scalable data solutions in AWS
• Utilize Docker to create containerized microservices
• Automate cloud infrastructure configuration using Terraform
• Use tools such as Prefect and Snowflake to build data pipelines
• Design data models and persist data to Snowflake cloud data warehouse
• Utilize cloud-native messaging tools
• Implement build and integration pipelines using GitLab
• Write automated unit, integration, and deployment tests
• Build tooling to automate repetitive tasks
• Demonstrate a desire to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Maintain a self-starting, entrepreneurial attitude
• Apply sound knowledge of Python and Pandas or equivalent data manipulation libraries
• Leverage SQL and database query languages
• Work with the AWS ecosystem, including S3, RDS, data streaming practices, ECS, AWS Lambda, and Infrastructure as Code
• Apply familiarity with Snowflake, Prefect, or similar data orchestration tools
• Demonstrate object-oriented programming experience (Python preferred)

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student with an anticipated graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028

Pay

Expected annual base salary range: $125,000. Actual base salary will be determined by individual experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles outside the U.S., compensation will follow a separate process based on local market comparables. Additional compensation may include other forms of benefits or rewards.
