About the role

Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) powers one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers. We build the platforms, applications, data systems, and automation capabilities that help Blackstone operate at scale, make investment decisions, manage risk, and deliver value to investors and portfolio companies. At BXTI, engineers work directly on business-critical systems supporting Blackstone’s global operations. As a Cybersecurity Summer Analyst, you will join an ambitious and talented team of security professionals responsible for protecting Blackstone’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. You will work closely with various stakeholders to identify and mitigate security risks, implement security controls, and respond to security incidents. Interns are treated as engineers from day one and are given opportunities to contribute meaningful work alongside experienced developers, architects, and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage risks to Blackstone’s information assets, including systems, networks, and data
  • Implement and maintain security controls, cloud infrastructure (AWS), endpoint protection solutions, and compliance frameworks
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments or penetration tests to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Monitor security events and incidents, and respond to security alerts in a timely manner
  • Perform investigations into security incidents, analyze evidence, and provide recommendations for remediation
  • Script or program to automate security tasks and enhance security monitoring capabilities
  • Provide security guidance and support to development teams to ensure secure software development practices
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices
  • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, such as vulnerability scanners and penetration testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection solutions
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Linux, PowerShell) for automation and security-related tasks
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and familiarity with secure coding principles
  • Ability to analyze and interpret security logs, events, and alerts
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey security risks and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student
  • Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2027 – Spring 2028
  • Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA

Start Date: June 2027. Location: Miami, Florida.

Pay

Expected annual base salary range: $125,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additional compensation may include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the role.
