About the role

The 2027 Aminah Robinson Writer/Scholar/Researcher Residency, administered by the Greater Columbus Arts Council in partnership with the Columbus Museum of Art, invites African American writers, scholars, and researchers to spend 90 days in Columbus, Ohio, working on a chosen project. The program emphasizes storytelling, cultural traditions, and the centrality of African American women in art, aligning with Robinson’s legacy.

Requirements

• Must be African American
• U.S. permanent resident
• Professional or pre-professional writer, scholar, or researcher
• Aged 18 or older
• Not enrolled as a degree-seeking student
• Must be the sole author of submitted works

Responsibilities

• Complete a 90-day residency from May 1 to July 30, 2027
• Develop and execute a community engagement project, such as a public writing workshop or lecture, in collaboration with the museum
