2027 2L Law Clerk - Madison, WI

About the role

Fredrikson & Byron is the premier Midwest-based law firm working collaboratively to help businesses achieve their goals regionally, nationally, and globally. We are seeking a 2L Summer Law Clerk who will graduate from law school in 2028 to join our Madison office in Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

We look for well-rounded individuals who have strong intellectual, problem-solving, analytical, and writing skills, and who have also participated in leadership roles in their schools or communities. Successful candidates display skills and interest in teamwork, an entrepreneurial spirit, take initiative, and have a client-service orientation. We prefer to see students who are in the top 25% of their class. Ties to or interest in Wisconsin are a plus. We do not currently hold a formal summer associate program (with expectation of post-graduate employment) out of our Madison office, but our law clerk gets great exposure to our Madison attorneys and interesting client work.

Requirements

• Graduate from law school in 2028

Benefits

Law Clerks are hired as hourly employees with a pay rate of $33 per hour. While there is no expectation of post-graduate employment, school-year clerking opportunities may be available.
