About the role

Nassau BOCES is seeking Hearing and Vision Teachers for the Summer Extended Year Program. Positions are available in the Special Education Department’s high school, middle school, elementary school, and preschool programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students with hearing and vision impairments according to curriculum and state standards.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with other special education teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Participate in regular meetings and trainings to stay updated on best practices and new developments in special education.

Requirements

  • New York State Department of Education Certification: Initial or Professional - Deaf and Hard of Hearing or Blind and Visually Impaired is required.

Salary

$290 per day.
