About the role

Carowinds is searching for the creepiest scare actors to join the Carolinas' largest Halloween event, SCarowinds. This role is perfect for energetic, dedicated individuals who enjoy fun, flexible work and want to develop resume-building skills through training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Scare guests of all ages without touching by using the element of surprise.
• Entertain guests as a costumed character by bringing the personality of the specific character to life through hand/body movements and strong vocalization where applicable.
• Develop gestures and movements unique to the character to enhance the scare experience.
• Wear complete costume, makeup, and/or mask provided as assigned.
• Maintain a healthy and fun scare experience for guests and fellow team members.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong vocal tones and basic acting ability.
• Ability to scream and speak before large groups of people.
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor during emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to wear costumes with masks and/or heavy makeup.
• Ability to work in dark or poorly lit areas with special effects and atmospheric fog.
• Availability to work some weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
