About the role
The role of an Industrial Engineer at Raytheon Technologies (RTX) involves applying advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to develop and optimize factories for maximum throughput, efficiency, and value.
Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
- Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
- Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.
- Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory expansion, manufacturing technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.
- Partner with project managers and other functions to execute projects that modify the factory footprint, change the layout of factory equipment, and/or add new capability.
- Support competitive bids, factory proposals, business case development for future investments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.
- Participate in factory safety and ergonomic improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
- Experience with CAD Software.
- Experience with project management.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Preferred majors are: Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience/Education with capacity/constraint analysis.
- Experience/Education with discrete event simulation modeling.
- Experience/Education with factory layout and work cell design / optimization.
- Six Sigma principles.
- Leverage Lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD.
