2026 Envision R&D Rotational Program – Track 1
About the role
The Alcon R&D team is looking for talented and motivated Engineers to join our Envision R&D Rotational Program. This program offers industry experience, networking, and the opportunity to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that help patients and customers see brilliantly.
Responsibilities
- Extraocular Devices (EOD): Support for accelerated digitalization, including template creation, elimination of paper processes, and integration of current independent software platforms.
- Instrumentation: Work with UX designers to identify storyboards, translate them into applications on IOSSystems, and collaborate with various engineering teams.
- Visualization: Collaborate with engineers to develop next-generation 3D camera systems, contributing to different aspects of product development.
- Software: Assist in developing or testing software applications for final use in surgery or internal development.
- Firmware: Develop and test control firmware for 3D camera heads.
- Electrical Engineering: Design or test Printed Circuit Board Assemblies for 3D camera systems.
- Mechanical Engineering: Design and 3D-print brackets, harnesses, and housings for visualization applications and industrial designs.
- Intraocular Device (IOD): Design, test, and iterate implantable devices, focusing on mechanical design, modeling, simulation, documentation, collaboration, project management, and statistics.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Optics/Optical Engineering, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Vision Science, Optometry, Systems, Aerospace, or related major.
- Graduating December 2026 (for January 2026 start date) or May/June 2027 (for July 2027 start date).
- Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0.
- Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g., through extracurricular activities or projects).
- Authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.
- Ability to commit to a 3-year, full-time (40 hours per week) rotational program in one of Alcon's locations: Johns Creek, GA / Belmont, Goleta or Lake Forest, CA / Fort Worth, TX.
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.
- Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.
- Preferred qualifications include pursuing an advanced degree in relevant fields and having Alcon Internship or Co-op work experience.

Pay
Pay Range: $68,000.00 - $88,000.00
Pay Frequency: Annual
