2026 COLLEGE STUDENT INTERNSHIP - SHERIFF

Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn, assist, and complete tasks in the areas of Operations Division, Investigations Division, Judicial Division, and the Administrative Services Division.
• Earn $20.00 an hour.
• Occasionally, work may require lifting heavy objects and carrying them (up to 60 Lbs.), stretching, and reaching to retrieve materials.
• Usually, the work will require extended physical effort over a significant portion of the workday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Interview Panel
• Personal & Professional References must be in good standing with college/university.
• Polygraph Drug Screening/Credit Check

The internship is a paid, non-sworn position that carries from 8 hours to 24 hours per week, as agreed upon by the Charleston Count Sheriff’s Office, intern, and college/university (if applicable).

This is a temporary position and no benefits are associated with it.
